The morning hours were hot and sunny. We changed the
time at the podium to around 15 minutes at a stretch. We did not have
many volunteers on the chart for the morning hours, but we really appreciate those who showed
up, and were especially delighted when unexpected help arrived.
The
Legislature is not in session on Fridays, so there was not a lot of
business going on. Throughout the morning, the Statehouse had tours of
children. Many kids and teachers came over to speak with us. I must
admit that the kids were drawn to the period uniform, while the adults
seemed to look to those of us near the podium for answers.
There were some professional-looking camcorders and at
least one reporter. If you know of any articles about the Friday
activities, please forward them (or a link) to the webmaster. Thanks.
